Another Happy Jeb!!

We made a very last minute decision on Friday afternoon to pack up and head to Birmingham for Memorial Day. We loaded up and pulled out Saturday morning around 7am. We were even crazy enough to stuff all three kiddos across the back seat of Brent's Accord! It was close quarters but we all survived the trip!!! The kids had a blast swimming at Mt. Laurel with Emily, Allison and Bobby and Annie, Hallie and Meg. Then they got to enjoy a cookout with Ansley, Lillian and Martha and some ice cream at Brewster's. It is always amazing how they pick up with their cousins as if they still saw them every day!!! We will return to Alabama -- both Athens and Birmingham -- for a longer visit in late July/early August and hope to see lots more friends then. Hope you enjoy these shots from our trip -- we never take as many photos as we want!!!

Take me out to the ballgame . . .

My parents were in town this weekend to see Ford play baseball on Sunday (and he had a GREAT game!). As a special treat, we decided to all go to the Cards game on Saturday. Needless to say, we were not sure what a baseball game with a 6, 4 and 2 year old was going to be like, but the day was a total success! The kids were great and everyone had fun -- the lesson is, Jeb can tolerate anything with enough food!!!! This will be great information to have in October when we head to Nashville to watch Auburn play football! Here are some pictures . . . enjoy!

Virginia's speech results

Many of you know we have been having some speech tests done on Virginia recently. She has hypernasality caused from her soft palate being too short. We found out today that she will have a sphincter pharyngoplasty on Wednesday, June 18. This surgery will allow her soft palate to close completely when she makes hard consenant sounds and will stop the air from escaping through her nose. The surgery, along with extensive speech therapy, should solve her problem. Thanks for all the prayers and please continue to pray for wisdom for the doctors and comfort for Virginia!

I Want Some Glasses

Jeb loves to go for Ford and Virginia's glasses. Today he found Virginia's old pink sunglasses and was so happy to have glasses that no one was trying to take away from him. He looked so cute with those glasses propped on his head -- I just had to share!

A Day at the Salon

Virginia is a great big sister. She is always teaching Jeb, her baby dolls and stuffed animals all sorts of wonderful things. Today, she decided to teach Jeb what it is like to have a day at the salon! Of course, she decided to teach him while I was outside for less than 3 minutes dealing with the man who so nicely came to repair Huck's electric fence (yes, the battery was just put in the collar upside down, but that is a whole different story!). She and Jeb headed upstairs, obviously as soon as I walked out the door, and "washed" their hair with baby shampoo and a bit of water from the bathroom sink. The bathroom floor got a little soap too! When I came in, I heard my sweet kiddos upstairs and decided to go up and see what they were doing. When I got half way up the steps, they came around to the top of the steps -- what a sight! Virginia had a wet slicked back spot in the center of her head, and Jeb, poor sweet Jeb, was slathered all over his head!!! We had a little talk about not using the soap without permission and then, I had to grab the camera. It was too cute not to capture for her so that I can show her little girl one day -- I can't wait to teach her kids some of her tricks!!!! (For example, writing "V" on the front of ALL of her dolls and stuffed animals, cutting her own hair, and pulling an Olivia moment and writing on the walls of our freshly painted house). So . . . hear they are after their "day at the salon"! Doesn't she look proud?
