Happy Thanksgiving!

A few pictures from Thanksgiving . . .

Hope everyone had a wonderful Turkey Day!  We celebrated on the Sunday before Thanksgiving since my parents were in town . . . dressing, turkey, sweet potatoes, pecan pie, and of course, pumpkin pie.  All delicious!!  Both Virginia and Ford made adorable turkeys at church so we had awesome centerpieces for the table!  The kids also enjoyed some puzzle time with Mema and Bud -- a Durham family holiday tradition.

A November Update!

So, I'm a little behind in my blogging!  I'm hoping this will catch everyone up on life at the Balogh house.  I decided that Virginia and I needed a fun "girl" activity for just us and so I purchased season tickets to the Family Series at COCA for us.  Our first play was this month -- Frog in the Clouds.  It was so cute and Virginia loved it -- I think I have finally found my date for plays and musicals!!  This is a picture of us just before heading out for our lunch at Chipotle (her pick, but my favorite spot!) followed by the play . . .

Ford's soccer team also finished up a great season this month.  Such a cute team of Reed kids!

Their final end of game of team "shake" . . .
And finally, Ford had election day out of school but Virginia and Jeb had class that day.  This allowed Ford and I to have a date.  He had been wanting to go to the pottery painting store ever since Virginia came home with a cool painted piece from a birthday party.  So paint we did . . . Ford's cereal bowl is officially all AUBURN -- blue outside with footballs and an orange inside.  WAR EAGLE!!!

Ford's Halloween Party!

Ford's class celebrated Halloween in a grand way too . . . the entire school parades around the building.  It is so fun to see how the costumes start so cute and as the kids get older, not so cute anymore!  Guess that is part of growing up . . .  Ford, as always, was an Auburn football player.  He loved getting to wear his football pants to school all day!  Even Mrs. E dressed up -- long black witch wig and everything!!

Virginia's Halloween Show

Better late than never!  Here are a few pictures of Virginia's Halloween performance at Salem.  She is very serious about her acting and singing!  The kids were so adorable and all looked cute in their costumes.  The music teacher is amazing!

Telling her name and what she is for Halloween . . .

Pumpkin Carving

Carving a pumpkin . . . it really sounded like another great idea!  We got one of those fancy pumpkin saws and thought we were ready to conquer our beautiful pumpkin.  Well, he turned out great, but there is a reason he has tears carved on him -- the kids shed a few tears while attempting to "help" and so we wanted to remember the night, tears and all!  Carving pumpkins is stressful . . . maybe next year we will paint them -- paint brushes aren't sharp and dangerous! :)  Here are some pictures . . . sorry they are out of order!

Ford and Virginia with the final product . . .
Jeb was in charge of shining the flashlight in to help them see their work.
Ford helping remove pumpkin guts!
Jeb helped too!
Virginia loved it . . . she even tried placing a little goo on Ford's face (which he did not like!)
