Our summer continues to be crazy busy! This week, Ford got an early birthday present from Mema and Bud . . . a new bike! It was desperately needed since his knees were touching the handlebars of his old one. Here are a few shots of him taking a spin. The two of us are planning to go bike the river trail at the Gateway Arch tomorrow morning while Virginia and Jeb are at school!! I hope I can still ride a bike!
Today, I was obviously feeling very adventurous and very patient (neither of which are normal feelings for me!) and I decided to let my kids help me cook dinner. Brent had been out of town and we decided to welcome him home with something special . . . Southwestern Chicken and Corn Cakes, roasted potatoes, a salad and homemade key lime pie! YUM! The kids helped with the chicken cakes and pie and here are some pictures . . . 
Voila! The finished product . . . they aren't beautiful but they will be delicious! I hope you can tell which ones I did and which ones the kids did!!!Virginia Update:
Virginia returned to Dr. Molter on Monday for a post op appointment. He was very pleased with how her throat was healing and the sound of her voice. She returns to Children's on September 2nd for another video nasal scope and radiology exam (VNE and SVF) and we will know then if the surgery totally closed the gap with the soft palate. On Tuesday, she went to her first speech therapy visit. It lasted 1 1/2 hours and appeared to be tons of fun for her. Her brothers, on the other hand, did not have as much fun hanging with mama in the waiting room! She will be going to speech weekly beginning in mid August but we are having trouble getting a "regular" spot on the schedule! Thanks for all the prayers for Virginia!
